Department of Commerce (Self-Help) has been recognized by the
Asian Book of Records for its mega Sadya (30-August-2022) organized during Onam. This earned the
college the reputation of being the largest feast prepared and presented by an educational institution in
India. The title recognized by the Asia Book of Records is - Maximum traditional vegetarian dishes
prepared and displayed by an educational institute. Christ is the first college in India to receive
this award. The award was announced on November 27th through Sudarshan channel. The certificates
were presented to the college authorities by the Asia Book of Records authorities. Principal Rev. Fr.
Dr. Jolly Andrews, Mega Sadya Coordinator Smitha Antony M, Head of Department of Commerce
(Self-financing) Prof. K. J. Joseph received the award. Officials stated that the recognition is for
bringing together the most vegetarian traditional food dishes. The editorial team of Asia Book of
Records unanimously selected 239 items from the Mega Sadya. This record will be included in the
Asia Book of Records.
