About the Concept
Sustainable development is the key for overall prospe rity of the world. To achieve sustainable development of prosperity and for protecting planet by 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) had been developed. There are 17 SDGs and have specific targets for each. Though it is a global issue, its achievements should be started from the countries and regions through the initiatives in handling the components therein. The SDGs can be no poverty; zero hunger; good health and wellbeing; quality education; gender equality; clean water and sanitation; affordable and clean energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructure; reduced inequalities; sustainable cities and communities; responsible consumption and production; climate action; life below water; life on land; peace, justice, and strong institutions; and partnerships for the goals. The SDGs emphasize the interconnected environmental, geographical, social and economic aspects of sustainable development by putting sustainability at their center. While dealing with the sustainable development there are some challenges confronting including War and Instability, Poverty and Unemployment, population growth, climate change, food security, etc. The conference aims to provide insights and awareness on all SDGs based on existing trends, challenges and strategies.

Submission guidelines
Paper presenters can submit their original and unpublished research papers on the central theme or sub themes or themes relating to the purview of SDGs.
The Abstracts should be not be more than 250 words including the Objectives, Methodology, Findings, Practical Implications and Key Words.
The particulars regarding the title of the paper and author(s)’s name(s), designation(s), official address(es), mobile number(s) and e-mail address(es) should also be mentioned along with the abstract as the title page.
Full Papers should not exceed 4000 words.
Manuscripts in Microsoft Word (12 point Times New Roman font, double spacing and 1” margins on all sides).
All the accepted papers for presentation will be published in the conference proceedings having ISBN Number
Our Speakers
Professor C Veeramani
Professor C Veeramani assumed the position of the 10th Director of the Centre for Development Studies (CDS) on June 1, 2023. Previously, he served as a Professor at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) in Mumbai. He holds a PhD and M Phil in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Before joining IGIDR, he worked with the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) in New Delhi and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University. He is the recipient of the EXIM Bank International Economic Development Research award 2003 for the best doctoral dissertation in international economics. Professor Veeramani serves as the Joint Managing Editor of the Journal of Quantitative Economics and as the Economics Area Editor of the Journal of Indian Business Research.
Dr. Dhanya Vijayan
Dr. Dhanya Vijayan is working as a Research Scientist at the Leibniz Center for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), Müncheberg, Germany. Dhanya has more than ten years of interdisciplinary research experience on the topics of sustainable and participatory management of natural resource. Her current research involves understanding the key impacts of tropical rainforest conversion on forest-dependent indigenous peoples and the differential loss of their traditional ecological knowledge related to forest change. Dhanya has previously worked at the University of Bremen, Germany and the National Center for Earth Science Studies, India. She holds a Masters degree in Geography from Kannur University, India and a PhD in Geography from the University of Kerala, India. In addition, she completed her post doc at ZALF, Germany, in 2020 with a DAAD Leibniz postdoctoral fellowship. She has received numerous fellowships and honors including the German Chancellor Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany. She was also selected as one of the World’s Top 25 Young Scientists (Green Talents) in sustainable development by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany in 2012. She is also serving as the reviewer for many major international journals including Forest Policy and Economics (Elsevier) and Water Resources Development (Elsevier).
Dr. Anu Susan Sam
Dr. Anu Susan Sam obtained her Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Economics from Humboldt University Berlin, Germany with German Academic Exchange Scholarship (DAAD). She completed her International Master’s in Rural Development (IMRD) from Gent University, with Erasmus Mundus Scholarship from European Union. She also holds a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Indian Agriculture Research Institute, New Delhi (Junior Research Fellowship from ICAR) and MPhil in Business studies from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. Her main research focus is on Climate Change, vulnerability and adaptation
