The
regional public speaking contest on the topic "Democracy and Prospects of
the World" was held at St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur on 14th
September 2023. The event was organized by the Oratory and Debate Club in
association with Senior Chamber International Thrissur Legion. Er. N I Verghese
(President, Senior Chamber International Thrissur Legion), Rev. Fr. Martin K A
(Principal, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur), Mr. Hamsa M Ali
(Secretary, Senior Chamber International Thrissur Legion), Mr. Rajagopal K B
(Treasurer, Senior Chamber International Thrissur Legion) and Dr. Rani
Sebastian (Coordinator, Oratory and Debate Club) addressed the gathering. A
total of 26 students from 9 colleges (Jyothi Engineering College, Vimala
College (Autonomous), Shardaya College of Advanced Studies, St. Thomas College
(Autonomous), St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Sri. C. Achuthamenon
Government College, Prajyoti Nikethan College, College of Climate Change and
Environmental Science, Thejus Engineering College) participated in the regional
contest. The winners were awarded a cash prize along with a certificate of
appreciation. A special prize was also conferred to two participants: Anantha
Lakshmi from St. Thomas College Thrissur & Gisha Reji from Prajyothi
Nikethan College. The winners were as follows:

3rd
