About the workshop
Science experiments mostly involve a predefined sequence of measurement/control of physical parameters like temperature, position, velocity, voltage, current etc. The measured parameters are stored as a function of time. ExpEYES (Experiments for Young Engineers and Scientists) provides a hardware and software framework for developing science experiments, demonstrations and projects without getting in to the details of electronics or computer programming. The device acts as a collection of test equipment like DC power supply, Oscilloscope, Function generator, frequency counter etc. The documented experiments are mostly at the B.Sc level. The device acts as a collection of test equipment providing the functions of Voltmeter, Oscilloscope, Function Generator, Data Logger etc. It converts your PC into a science laboratory. The design of ExpEYES combines the real-time control/ measurement capabilities of micro-controllers with the ease and flexibility of Python programming language for data analysis and visualization.
About the College:
Mar Athanasius College (Autonomous), Kothamangalam is a premier institution of higher education in Kerala, under Mar Athanasius College Association, shaped by a group of visionaries led by its first Association Secretary and Principal Prof. M.P Varghese. Started in the year 1955, the college has a long tradition of imparting value based holistic education to many generations of students in Kerala. At present the college is offering 15 UG and 17 PG programme and one integrated PG programme in Biology. The college has 5 research centres in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Commerce. The College has excellent infrastructure like well-equipped laboratories, Smart classes, Swimming Pool, Indoor Shooting Range, Sophisticated Instrumentation Centre. The College was accredited at A Grade by NAAC continuously from 2002 and at A+ Grade with GPA 3.52 in 2017. Four Science Departments of the college were selected under 'Star College' scheme of DBT. The College was honoured with Malayala Manorama 'Palathulli Award’, Bhoomimithra Award, National Environmental Awareness Award, Green Award etc. The College has sparkling achievements in sports and games as well.
