Onam is one of the most popular festival of India and people celebrate it irrespective of caste, religion etc. The organising committee of N.S.S college Ottapalam consists of students and teachers and they worked hard to plan various activities and events. The college premises were beautifully decorated with flowers, balloons etc.
The onam celebration was begun with a welcome speech which was delivered by HOD of commerce department. Department wise competitions such as pookala malsaram, singing and dancing competitions were held. Economics department won 1st prize in pookala malsaram. One of the highlights of onam celebration was the grand onam sadhya , served on banana leaves.
Students, staff members and teachers enjoyed this delicious sadhya together. Teachers performed traditional dance form, Thiruvathira. Overall, the onam celebration created a joyful atmosphere and was an enriching experience for all.
