Homestead farming is a best method of organic farming, through this method we can cultivate wide varieties of vegetables and fruits which are organic, and pesticides free . Vegetables which are imported and sold in markets can contain high amount of synthetic taste and color agents, which can cause high immuno deficiency and non-curable diseases. inorganic pesticides and chemicals which prevent and stimulate seasonal rottaning of fruits and vegetables are used in those vegetables and fruits which are sold both in local and foreign markets, and even now people/we who are aware about these side effects are ready to pay for this poison and without any concern we are consuming it day-to-day.
In such serious situation regarding the food chain and health of the mankind here we can show the significance and advantages of Homestead farming which are purely organic and economic friendly. Maximum usage of land, minimum usage of pesticides and chemicals, both these are the main key points of Homestead farming. There are numerous advantages are there regarding this concept : reduce, reuse and recycle of waste can be done through this farming method.
bio waste can be utilized and reused as fertilizers. cost of production will be less compared to other farming methods coz it does not require more land or other supplements, we can even use terrace for cultivation and can generate a good amount as income. Production of biogas/biomass from bio waste can be used as fuel or other source of energy. moreover we can cook and feed ourselves and our family with poison free, organic and highly nutritious foods.
