The World Environmental Day was observed by NSS Unit 43 & 120 of Vimala College (Autonomous) Thrissur. This day raises awareness about taking positive environmental action to protect nature and the environment. It is a day that reminds everyone on the planet to get involved in environment friendly activities. This year's theme for. The World Environmental Day is “Land Restoration Desertification and Drought resilience, with the slogan, “Our Land, Our future. The people come together to pledge towards building a greener planet. Teachers and students planted tree samplings under the leadership of NSS coordinator, Santhosh PJ .
The students also were encouraged to plant tree samplings in their residential areas in the vacation. NSS volunteers participated and celebrated World Environmental Day. A lot of enthusiasm was seen in the students. The event was conducted successfully with whole hearted participation and awareness about plants.
