World Blood Donors Day Honoured at Don Bosco College Mannuthy
Don Bosco College Mannuthy organized an awareness workshop for students of NSS Unit 338 on the theme "Importance and history of Blood Donation" as part World Blood Donors Day.
Principal Dr.Fr.johnson ponthempally SDB presided over the program. The chief guest at the event was Assistant Scientist T. Satyanarayan who retired from the Department of Transfusion Medicine of the Medical College and delivered the keynote speech. He briefly explained about the evolution of blood donation from the Pope Innocent 7 who taken blood from three young men, then William Harvey identified that blood flowed through the blood vessels in one direction to new technologies in blood transfusion called Apheresis, that separates blood into its components by density.NSS Program Officer Ajeesh A.S. and Assistant Program Officer Delma were present in the ceremony.
