"Palliative Care Essentials: A field based Training Program"
On Friday, July 26th, 2024, the Don Bosco College in Mannuthy witnessed a milestone event - the first field-based training program conducted by the Department of Social Work. The program, held from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the AV hall, was a resounding success.
Principal Father Johnson Ponthempilly SDB welcomed the resource person, Mr. Suresh Sreedharan, Community Director of Alpha Palliative Care. Mr. Suresh's passion for palliative care was palpable as he emphasized its significance and benefits for those in need.
The program was skillfully coordinated by the HOD of the Department of Social Work, Miss Mary Theresa Joseph, and Mr. Nithin Prakash, Program Coordinator. Mr. Suresh's insightful session was followed by an exciting announcement - a 30-hour internship opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in palliative care. As he bid farewell, Mr. Suresh extended his best wishes to the participants, inspiring them to make a positive impact in the lives of others."
