The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur, successfully organized a one-day workshop on Optimizing Outcome-Based Education through Learning Management System on 14th October 2024. The workshop, held at Kaviprathibha Hall, was aimed at equipping faculty with the necessary skills and strategies to enhance curriculum delivery and student progress assessment using a Learning Management System (LMS).
The program commenced at 9:00 AM
with a silent prayer, followed by the welcome address delivered by Dr. Divya
George, IQAC Coordinator. The inaugural address was delivered by Rev. Dr.
Martin K A, who emphasized the transformative potential of integrating
technology into education.
The first technical session, led by
Mr. Sherry P S, Senior Product Evangelist at Linways Technologies,
focused on strategies to align LMS with learning objectives, providing insight
into effective curriculum integration using technology. Mr. Alexander George,
Director of Product at Linways Technologies, conducted the second session on
assessing and tracking student progress using LMS. This session provided
insights into utilizing LMS for continuous student assessment, tracking
progress, and ensuring that learning outcomes are effectively measured.
The workshop concluded with an
engaging discussion and Q&A session where the faculty members raised
queries related to practical applications of the LMS in different academic
contexts, and the resource persons provided insightful responses, further
enriching the learning experience for the participants. Dr. Anu Paul, the
Programme Coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks.
The workshop provided participants
with essential knowledge and tools to optimize outcome-based education through
the effective use of LMS, thereby contributing to the ongoing efforts to
improve educational quality at the institution.
